Disclaimer: Unlike a majority of our posts, this blog post does not contain a lightbulb-a-ha moment, does not narrate any major life event, and does not include a race or training run re-cap. It covers other important matters- like bright colors, lip gloss, glitter, and clothes.
As runners, triathletes, crossfitters, or whatever it is that you call yourself, we tend to have closets that are jam packed of old race shirts, tank tops in two of every color, running shorts, workout capris that you actually workout in, and workout capris that are for errand running and grocery shopping. Throughout my years of racing, I have become quite the collector of active apparel. And below are a list of my absolute must-haves:
1. Coeur Running Shorts: Goodgollygeemolly, these running shorts are amazing! And this is coming from the girl that nev-er runs in shorts. Now, let me come clean, I am a bit biased. I am one of the super lucky girls that was selected to be an ambassador for this awesome, women-owned, company. This means that I get to wear their amazing apparel while virtually getting to know my other Coeur teammates who offer a daily dose of motivation, inspiration, and camaraderie. The wide (and adorable) waistband on the shorts make them super comfortable and I have experienced zero chafing in these puppies. An added bonus of these shorts is my husband saying "I love those shorts on you" every time I strut them around the house.
2. My Banded Headband: Have you ever tried to grow out bangs? If you have, I'm sure you feel my pain. I have tried every other headband under the sun and this is the only one that doesn't slip, fall off, or give me a headache. Added bonus: they are available in a multitude of sparkly colors.
Amen, girl. |
3. Zensah Compression Sleeves: They are like a bear-hug for your calf muscles. It's the little things in life, like slipping on these compression sleeves after a long run or tough crossfit workout, that make this girl smile.
4. Lip Smacker's Lip Gloss: Ok, as a 30-year-old, that was kind of embarrassing to type. But this particular lip chap (along with Burt's Bees) always finds a place in my hydration pack on a long run and I am known to hoard a tube or three of these in my purse.
5. Run This Day Hoodie: Since I picked up this batch of hoodies from the printer, I have hardly stopped wearing it. It has thumbholes on sleeves that are actually long enough to fit me, is amazingly comfortable, and the neon green ink has the perfect pop of color against the deep navy of the hoodie. As the designer for Sparkle.Pounce. this particular design makes me smile and Leigh Ann couldn't have said it better when describing the design as wearable motivation to “Put your cape on ladies and do something today or this week that is true to who you are that will put you that much closer to whatever it is that you dream of doing.” From all of us at Sparkle.Pounce. thank you for allowing us to sell-out of these hoodies. The second batch is on it's way and would love to have a chance to be on your personal "favorite things" list!
My favorite's list could also be called my well-worn list. |
