I am so excited to Make the Season Sparkle!!
In case you missed it, here's our picture with some ideas to help you complete 10 physical activities and 10 random acts of kindness before Christmas!
The "20 Challenges to Make the Season
Sparkle" was a very last minute idea that we came up with to help
everyone spread some sparkle during the holiday season. But once the
idea was thrown out there, I couldn't get it out of my head!
When I got home from work yesterday, I opened the mailbox to find two things that seemed just perfect for this challenge. First, there was a catalog from World Vision. This is a charity group that supports impoverished countries around the world. Inside, there were tons of different options for helping support families in need. Options ranged from buying a duck for a family, to buying a cow, to paying for a child to attend school, to making a monetary donation, and many other cool options. I haven't decided which way I'm going to offer support, but I'm definitely going to choose something. I'm leaning towards buying a chicken...
Then, I was reading through my new Family Fun magazine, and there is an article in it asking people to make capes for homeless children. Yes, you read that right....CAPES!!!! My favorite thing! It asks you to follow the simple, no sew, steps to making a cape, and then take a picture of yourself wearing the cape, post it on a website, and then mail the cape so that it can be delivered to a homeless child. How amazing is that?!?! I can't wait to make a cape (or 2)! I will be sure to post some pics to our FB page showing the cape I make!
So, there were 2 obvious ideas of ways for me to make the season sparkle just waiting for me in my mailbox when I got home yesterday. And then, to top it off, my two adorable boys wanted to do yoga with me last night! I'm not going to lie, I hadn't planned on doing yoga yesterday, especially after my glass of wine that I had while cleaning up the kitchen after dinner :) BUT...when Sparkle duty calls, I respond. And it was really fun! And a great workout.
I really feel that this challenge is the perfect summary of what is means to "Sparkle." and "Pounce."
